Anton Wiegand

Philipp Anton Wiegand (born August 3, 1847 in Darmstadt , † January 24, 1925 in Heppenheim ) was a Hessian landowner and politician ( center ) and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Anton Wiegand was the son of the post office clerk Christian Wiegand and his wife Therese, nee Schanzenpflug. Wiegand, who was a Catholic, married Maria nee Kessler. He became post office assistant in 1867, post secretary in 1879, postmaster in Zülpich in 1896 and postmaster in Heppenheim in 1899.

From 1911 to 1918 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency Starkenburg 10 / Heppenheim-Viernheim . From 1914 to 1924 he was mayor of Heppenheim.
