Wilhelm von Dörnberg (forester)
Friedrich Wilhelm Carl Heinrich Freiherr von Dörnberg (* July 5, 1781 in Mansbach ; † January 21, 1877 in Darmstadt ) was a Hessian chief forestry officer , politician and member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .
Life
Wilhelm von Dörnberg was the son of the captain in Dutch service Ferdinand Freiherr von Dörnberg (1752–1788) and his wife Wilhelmine, born von Mansfeld (1753–170). Dörnberg, who was Protestant, married on April 5, 1808 in Frankfurt am Main Marie Freiin von Malapert called von Neufville (1785–1871), the daughter of the lay judge, senator and mayor in Frankfurt am Main Friedrich Wilhelm Freiherr von Malapert called von Neufville (1755-1818).
Dörnberg attended the Philippinum Weilburg grammar school in 1796 , where he received the first practical forest instruction from the chief forester Rauch. He was appointed hunting squire in 1801 by Landgrave Ludwig X. He trained in forest science at Heinrich Cotta's private forestry school in Zillbach . In 1802 he became chief forestry assessor and in 1804 assessor at the Oberforstkolleg in Darmstadt. From 1814 he was chief forester in Lorsch, in 1824 forest inspector of the Heppenheim forest, in 1847 master hunter and in 1852 chief forest master. In 1864 he retired.
He was the founder of the forest cultivation company in Hessen-Darmstadt. In 1834 he became a member of the Hessian agricultural associations and in 1855 Vice President of the agricultural association of the Starkenburg Province . In 1870 he was made honorary vice president.
He was the owner of Fideikommiss and hereditary kitchen master in Hesse.
From 1826 to 1830 and again from 1840 to 1847 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency Starkenburg 6 / Lorsch .
