Philipp Uebel

Philipp Uebel (born December 24, 1864 in Dieburg ; † June 27, 1929 there ) was a civil servant and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Philipp Uebel was the son of the district office assistant Philipp Uebel and his wife Anna Maria née Lohrum. On July 26, 1892, he married Elisabeth nee Braun. After her death in 1896, he married the second marriage on April 16, 1899 in Dieburg, Klara, born Heusslein.

Uebel attended elementary school and the Episcopal Progymnasium in Dieburg, the preparatory school in Wöllstein , the teachers' college in Bensheim and was a teacher in Vielbrunn and Ober-Abtsteinach from 1885 . In 1885 he fulfilled his military service in the 3rd Hessian Infantry Regiment (Leibregiment) No. 117 in Mainz .

In 1894 he resigned from the school service to take over the offices of his late father as city calculator and Fechenbach-Landenbachscher administrator in Dieburg. He was the first president of the Hessian farmers 'association and first president of the Catholic men's and workers' association in Dieburg. From 1905 he was a member of the II. Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse as a representative of the constituency Starkenburg 8 / Lorsch-Heppenheim . From 1909 to 1912 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Hesse 8 ( Bingen , Alzey ) and the German Center Party . After the First World War he was between 1919 and 1924 a member of the Landtag in the people's state of Hesse and Ministerial President.
