Heinrich Trommler was the son of the merchant Heinrich Trommler and his wife Maria Margaretha, née Ohligschläger. Drummer, who was a Catholic, was a landowner and trader in Mainz and was married.
From 1826 to 1834 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was first elected for the constituency Rheinhessen 5 / Nieder-Olm-Bretzenheim and then in the constituency of the city of Mainz.
Trommlerstrasse in Mainz-Mombach is named after him. By acquiring the site of the Walderdorf plant, he had become an important landowner in this then still independent community.
