Georg Röder (judge)

Georg Joseph Röder (born July 18, 1819 in Mainz , † February 24, 1896 in Darmstadt ) was a Hessian judge and politician and a former member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Life

Georg Röder was the son of the businessman Eberhard Röder and his wife Elisabeth nee Stechmann. On August 26, 1854, Georg Röder, who was of a Catholic denomination, married Elise nee Glaubrech (1836–1905), the daughter of the High Court Council and member of the Landtag, Johann Glaubrech .

Georg Röder studied law at the University of Giessen and became a court attorney in Mainz after completing his studies . In 1849 he became a lawyer at the Alzey District Court and in 1850 at the Mainz District Court . In 1865 he became a supplementary judge at the Mainz District Court and in 1867 Appellate and Cassation judge in Darmstadt. In 1872 he became General State Procurator at the same court. In 1878 he was appointed to the Privy Council and retired in 1879.

In the 19th to 20th electoral period (1866–1872) he was a member of the second chamber of the state estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse. In the estates he represented the constituency Rheinhessen 4 / Nieder-Olm . He took conservative positions.
