Franz Anton Probst

Franz Anton Probst (born December 16, 1804 in Mainz ; † February 10, 1878 there ) was a Mainz merchant and member of the state parliament.

Franz Anton Probst was the son of the Mainz businessman Franz Josef Probst and his wife Maria Margarethe née Eberhard. Franz Anton Probst, who was a Catholic, married Rosalia nee Klein in 1838 and her second marriage to Therese nee Metz in 1841. He worked as a businessman in Mainz, where he was awarded the title of commercial councilor .

From 1856 to 1862 he represented the constituency of the city of Mainz in the Second Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse for two electoral terms .
