The Catholic Church of St. Antonius is a listed building in Titmaringhausen , a district of the town of Medebach in the Hochsauerlandkreis ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

History and architecture

Titmaringhausen was assigned to the parish Deifeld. A separate chapel was planned to save the troublesome way to church. The original chapel , also dedicated to St. Anthony , was built in 1623. In 1879 and 1923 extensions were added to the west and east. The middle, almost square part with 1.20 m thick quarry stone masonry is covered with a cross vault. This is probably the rest of the choir from the previous chapel. The interior was repainted in 1927 by the church painter Bergenthal. In 1948 the tower was equipped with a mechanical church tower clock. A sacristy was added in 1951. The chapel got its current shape in 1954, a small porch with a beautiful door was built. A thorough renovation was carried out in 1996, the facade and the interior were painted. In 2003 the roof and tower were slated in the old German cover, a new tower cock was put on.
