Jakob Schaub (politician)

Jakob Schaub (born July 26, 1823 in Büdesheim , † February 2, 1877 in Ulrichstein ) was a Hessian pastor and politician ( NLP ) and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Jakob Schaub was the son of the landlord Johann Jakob Konrad Schaub (1797–1880) and his wife Anna Wilhelmine, née Rück (1799–1877). Schaub, who was of Protestant faith, married Elisabeth, born Mayor Johannes Schultheiss, on May 26, 1856 in Berstadt.

After attending grammar school in Büdingen, Schaub studied theology in Gießen and Tübingen from 1844, and from 1848 in the preacher's seminary in Friedberg . During his studies in 1845 he became a member of the old Gießen fraternity Frankonia . From 1852 to 1855 he was vicar in Stumpertenrod. In 1855 he was parish administrator in Londorf, from 1855 to 1857 in Ober-Widdersheim and from 1857 to 1859 in Echzell I. In 1859 he became pastor in Ulrichstein and remained in this position until 1877. He was a member of the regional synod.

From 1872 to 1877 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency of Upper Hesse 11 / Laubach-Schotten .
