Valentin Wirthwein

Valentin Wilhelm Wirthwein (born December 24, 1806 in Biebesheim ; † September 11, 1881 in Fürfeld ) was a Hessian pastor and politician and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Valentin Wirthwein was the son of the tenant Leonhard Wirthwein on Lusthausen and his wife Anna Maria. Wirthwein, who was Protestant, married Katharina nee Pfeffer.

Wirthwein studied theology at the University of Gießen from 1827 and became vicar in Wingertshausen in 1835 and in Eschenrod in 1836. In 1837 he was the rectorate administrator in Homberg and from 1837 to 1842 he was co-preacher in Ober-Ofleiden. From 1842 to 1854 he was pastor in Breungeshain, 1854 to 1867 in Merlau and 1867 to 1881 in Fürfeld.

From 1849 to 1850 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency of Upper Hesse 9 / Schotten .
