Adam Johann Balthasar Georg Krug (born March 8, 1801 in Gießen ; † September 1, 1878 in Darmstadt ) was a German judge , politician and member of the 1st and 2nd chambers of the state estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

family

Georg Krug was the son of court attorney Friedrich Karl Georg Heinrich Krug (1764–1838) and his wife Anna Christina née Kohlermann (1766–1842). Georg Krug of the Protestant denomination married Emilie born Kempff (1804-1882) on October 8, 1826 in Gießen.

His daughter Emilie Elisabethe Georgine Wilhelmine (1827–1915) married the future provincial director Friedrich Küchler .

education and profession

Georg Krug studied law in Gießen and Göttingen from 1818 . During his studies in 1819 he became a member of the Gießen General Burschenschaft Germania . After completing his studies, he became a court clerk in Göttingen and from 1824 a second class judge at the Biedenkopf regional court . In 1825 he became an assessor at the Giessen City Court . In 1827 he was a district judge at the Vöhl district court and in 1828 at the Schotten district court . In 1835 he became a member and councilor at the Darmstadt court . In 1841 he was a member and councilor at the Court of Appeal and Cassation in Darmstadt, and in 1859 he became President of the Court of Justice in Darmstadt.

politics

In the 7th to 11th and 14th electoral terms (1835-1849 and 1851-1856) he was a member of the second chamber of the state estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse. In the state estates he represented the electoral district Oberhessen 14 / Büdingen in the 7th to 10th electoral term , in the 11th electoral district Oberhessen 3 / Heuchelheim and in the 13th electoral term the electoral district Oberhessen 9 / Schotten. In 1868 he was appointed a lifelong member of the 1st Chamber of the Estates.
