Johannes Hanstein

Johannes (called Jean) Hanstein (born February 24, 1827 in Friedberg (Hesse) ; † July 7, 1892 in Giessen ) was a Hessian manufacturer and politician ( Freinn ) and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Johannes Hanstein was the son of master butcher Heinrich Hanstein and his wife Katharina, née Reus. Hanstein, who was of Protestant faith, was a manufacturer in Gießen and married Wilhelmina nee Klöpper.

From 1879 to 1887 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency of Oberhessen 5 / Wieseck .
