Johann Gros

Johann Joseph Gro (o) s (born May 20, 1809 in Steinheim ; † July 4, 1892 in Gießen ) was a Hessian lawyer, landlord and politician and member of the 2nd Chamber of the Land estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Johann Gros was the son of the judicial officer Franz Xaver Gros (* 1764) and his wife Anna Maria Josepha, nee Langhirt (1772-1819). Gros, who was a Catholic, married Therese Elise Christiane Georgette née Dieffenbach on February 25, 1836 in Gießen , the sister of Ernst Dieffenbach and daughter of the church council Ludwig Dieffenbach and his wife Christiane née Hoffmann.

Life

Gros studied 1827-1829 jurisprudence at the University of Giessen , where he in 1828 due burschenschaftlicher machinations relegated was and in Heidelberg . During his studies in 1827 he became a member of the Old Giessener Burschenschaft Germania and in 1828 the Old Heidelberg Burschenschaft . He was promoted to Dr. jur. PhD . He was a confidante of the Frankfurt Wachensturm . He lived as a tenant on the Kolnhäuser Hof near Lich or as a privateer.

From 1849 to 1850 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency of Upper Hesse 12 / Lich .
