Karl Orbig
Karl Wilhelm Orbig (born March 19, 1845 in Gießen ; † October 17, 1928 there ) was a Hessian carpenter and innkeeper and politician ( SPD Hesse ) and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .
Karl Orbig was the son of Elisabethe Orbig. Orbig, who was a Protestant, married Johanna nee Rupp.
He was an independent master carpenter in Gießen until the mid-1880s and then until 1926 innkeeper ("Zum Ritter") in Gießen.
Since the 1890s he was a member of the SP State Board of Hesse, 1893-1918 City Councilor in Giessen and until 1907 chairman of the supervisory board of the consumer association. From 1893 to 1894 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency of Oberhessen 5 / Wieseck .
