Werner Bull

Werner Herbert Bull (born July 30, 1902 in Durlach ; † March 20, 1989 in Neuenbürg ) was a German electrical engineer and politician.

education

Werner Bull, son of the architect Hermann Bull (1869–1956), attended grammar school in Durlach. He then studied electrical engineering from 1921 to 1926 at the TH Karlsruhe , where he became a member of the Germania fraternity (now Teutonia ) in 1920/21 . From 1926 to 1930 he was a volunteer assistant at the chair for theoretical physics at the TH Karlsruhe. Several patents come from this time together with a colleague. From August 1930 to March 1932 he was operations manager and patent engineer at Fr. Bachmann, a factory for electromedical apparatus and glass instruments in Jena .

National Socialism

Bull joined the NSDAP on December 1, 1931 ( membership number 752.472). From April to May 1932 he took a leadership course in the voluntary labor service . April 1933 he became the local leader ordered the city council of the Nazi Party in the district committee voted Durlach.

In July 1933, after the Social Democrats were expelled from the district committee, Bull was elected honorary city councilor. August 1933 he was elected deputy mayor and full-time city councilor (alderman), responsible for technical offices, personnel and welfare, and elected to the board of the construction and settlement cooperative Durlach.

In 1935 Bull attended the NSDAP district school in Karlsruhe. He represented the mayor after he was recalled, but was not elected despite an application for his position. After the NSDAP local group was divided into five groups, Bull came to head the local group in the south. On April 1, 1938, he signed the contract for the forced incorporation of Durlach into Karlsruhe. He then became the district office manager in Durlach and 30 June 1938 in the active status are added. According to witness statements, he was a “fanatical nationalist” who freed the city administration and public life from unpopular people.

In addition to his NSDAP membership, Bull also belonged to the NSFK , the NS-Volkswohlfahrt and the Reichsluftschutzbund . He received the service award of the NSDAP in bronze.

In September and October 1938 he was drafted into the Sudeten mission. Then Bull was appointed as the city planning officer of Karlsruhe, responsible for the municipal works. December 1936 to March 1937 he took part in military exercises with the news group of the Air Force Regiment Condor Legion .

After the outbreak of war, he was drafted as a private on August 26, 1939 from a military exercise . Until December 1940 he was radio master of the air intelligence corps in Augsburg . He then went to the Luftgaukommando Munich as a non-commissioned officer to prepare as an air force engineer. In August 1941, Bull was transferred as an Air Force Staff Engineer and First General Staff Officer to Air Force Expansion Staff 3 in western France. After a year he was transferred to the air force test sites in Rechlin and Travemünde .

post war period

In May 1945 Bull was captured by the British. Internment took place until March 1947 . Imprisoned in Karlsruhe from March 12 to July 5, 1947 as part of the judicial chamber proceedings for denazification . On July 20, 1950, he was classified as "incriminated" with appropriate expiatory measures.

Bull was a self-employed engineer in Karlsruhe until his retirement.
