Karl Ludwig Wilhelm Daniel Draudt

Karl Ludwig Wilhelm Daniel Draudt (born June 6, 1810 in Lich ; † January 21, 1896 in Darmstadt ) was a Hessian court judge and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Karl Ludwig Wilhelm Daniel Draudt was the son of the government lawyer in Braunfels, procurator in Lich, Stifts-Syndicus, notary and bailiff to Nieder-Weisel Carl Ludwig Daniel Draudt (1763-1846) and his wife Anna Magdalena née Rauch (1773-1854) Laubach. Draudt, who was a Protestant denomination, married Lex, born on September 16, 1841 in Wiesbaden Luise (born February 4, 1819 in Wiesbaden; † July 4, 1892 in Darmstadt), the daughter of Karl Ludwig Lex and Wilhelmine Marie Henriette Koch. The following children were born from the marriage:

  • Bertha Beck, née Draudt (1845–1909), married to the industrialist Ludwig Georg Beck
  • Karl Friedrich Draudt (born August 5, 1842), Medical Councilor, in Darmstadt
  • August Karl Draudt (born January 18, 1846), Lieutenant General, in Darmstadt

Karl Ludwig Wilhelm Daniel Draudt studied law at the University of Giessen from 1826 and passed the state examination in 1834. He then worked at the Lich Regional Court from 1835 and at the Hungen Regional Court in 1837 . From 1850 he was assessor, from 1853 court judge at the court in Darmstadt . In 1860 he became a judge of appeals and cassation at the Darmstadt Court of Appeal .

From 1866 to 1872 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency of Oberhessen 4 / Hungen and then Oberhessen 8 / Laubach-Schotten.

Draudt was also on the board of the Elisabethenstift zu Darmstadt from 1856 , chairman of the historical association for the Grand Duchy of Hesse and author of historical treatises from 1866 .
