Albert Calmberg

Johann Ernst Friedrich Albert Calmberg (born September 20, 1807 in Lauterbach ; † March 22, 1883 in Fulda ) was a Hessian judge and politician and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Albert Calmberg was the son of the Grand Ducal Hessian court advokaten and procurator Johann Erhart Wilhelm Calmberg (1765–1837) and his wife Amalie, née Briegleb (1778–1860). Calmberg, who was Protestant, married Christine Adolfine, née Schäfer, on September 12, 1839, daughter of the Count's Görtzian chamber director in Schlitz .

Calmberg studied law at the University of Gießen and became an assessor in Schlitz in 1839, in Butzbach in 1840 and in Gießen in 1848. In 1850 he became director of the Marienschloss prison. From 1853 he was a district judge at the district court Vöhl , from 1857 at the district court Gernsheim and from 1858 at the district court Vöhl. After the Prussian annexation of Kurhessen, he became a Prussian chief magistrate in Vöhl in 1866 and retired in 1871.

From 1856 to 1862 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency of Upper Hesse 9 / Büdigen . He was made an honorary citizen of Vöhl .
