Ludwig Zimmermann (judge)

Christian Ludwig Wilhelm Zimmermann (born February 18, 1806 in Gießen ; † February 10, 1881 in Darmstadt ) was a Hessian judge and politician and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Ludwig Zimmermann was the son of Major General Christian Zimmermann (1774–1832) and his wife Caroline Jakobea, née Zimmermann (1775–1843). Zimmermann, who was a Protestant, married Wolfriede Pauline Johanette Christophine née van Heemskerck (1806–1864) in Darmstadt on March 31, 1834 .

During his law studies, he became a member of the Old Giessener Burschenschaft Germania in the winter semester of 1822/23 . In 1833 he became an assessor at the regional court in Giessen . In 1835 he became a district judge at the Schotten district court , in 1844 a district judge at the Ulrichstein district court and in 1847 a district judge at the Seligenstadt district court . In 1852 he became a member and councilor in the Darmstadt court, where he was appointed secret court judge in 1869 . In 1875 he was retired.

From 1856 to 1862 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency Starkenburg 4 / Seligenstadt .
