Herbstein District Court

The Herbstein District Court was a Hessian court of first instance of ordinary jurisdiction that existed from 1879 to 1968 and was based in the city of Herbstein .

history

With the Courts Constitution Act of 1877, the organization and names of the courts were standardized across the empire . The Grand Duchy of Hesse therefore repealed the Herbstein Regional Court on October 1, 1879 , which had served the district in the first instance since 1821. It was replaced by the Herbstein District Court , which belonged to the district of the Gießen Regional Court , which was also newly established . At the same time, the places Dirlammen and Rudlos were handed over to the Lauterbach district court . The district court district Herbstein thus consisted of the places Altenschlirf, Bannerod, Bermuthshain, Crainfeld, Eichelhain, Eichenrod, Engelrod, Fleschenbach, Freiensteinau, Grebenhain, Gunzenau, Heisters, Herbstein, Hörgenau, Holzmühl, Hopfmannsfeld, Ilbeshausen, Lanzenhain-Metzlos, , Nieder-Moos, Nösberts, Ober-Moos, Radmühl, Reichlos, Rixfeld, Salz, Schadges, Schlechtenwegen, Steinfurt, Stockhausen, Vaitshain, Weid-Moos, Wünsch-Moos and Zahmen together. With Schadges and Stockhausen, however, two more villages had to be ceded to the Lauterbach district court on January 1, 1888.

With effect from November 1, 1949, the communities Hartmannshain , Herchenhain and Volkartshain were separated from the Ortenberg District Court and assigned to the Herbstein District Court. On July 1, 1957, the Herbstein District Court lost its independence and finally became a branch of the Lauterbach District Court after it was already at the end of the Second World War . On July 1, 1968, this branch was also closed.
