The Alsfeld District Court (AG Alsfeld) is a court of ordinary jurisdiction in Alsfeld in the Vogelsbergkreis ( Hesse ).

The seat of the court is today in Alsfeld at Landgraf-Hermann-Straße 1.

The historic courthouse, Amthof 12, dates from the 1860s. The seven-axis structure shapes the area in terms of urban planning . It is supplemented by an extension from 1904. Originally both buildings were plastered. It is a cultural monument for historical and urban planning reasons due to the Hessian Monument Protection Act .

Jurisdiction

The AG Alsfeld is primarily responsible for most court cases within its judicial district. It is not responsible in commercial, cooperative, association register and insolvency matters that fall within the jurisdiction of the Giessen District Court . The AG Hünfeld acts as the central dunning court for the whole of Hesse and the Hesse- wide partnership register is kept at the Frankfurt am Main District Court .

history

founding

With the Courts Constitution Act of 1877, the organization and names of the courts were unified across the empire . On October 1, 1879, the previous courts of first instance , the regional courts , were repealed in the Grand Duchy of Hesse and replaced by local courts . The functional predecessor of the Alsfeld District Court was the Alsfeld District Court .

The higher courts directly superordinate to the local courts were now called “ regional courts ”. The district court Alsfeld was assigned to the district of the regional court Gießen .

At the same time, the boundaries of the judicial districts were redrawn in some places (see: tabular overview).

Further development

On January 1, 1882, the place Ermenrod , which was previously assigned to the district court Grünberg , was integrated into the district of the Alsfeld court.

On June 15, 1943, the District Court of Alsfeld was assigned the District Court of Homberg an der Ohm as a branch, but this was reversed with effect from June 1, 1948.

On May 1, 1948 Udenhausen came from the Lauterbach district court to the district of the AG Alsfeld. It had already belonged to the district of the Alsfeld Regional Court from 1821 to 1879.

On July 1, 1968, the district court district of Alsfeld was greatly expanded (see: tabular overview). This also included a number of communities that had already belonged to the district of the Alsfeld regional court between 1821 and 1838 and were then handed over to the Ulrichstein regional court .

There were further changes in the course of the regional reform in Hesse in 1972 and 1973 (see: tabular overview), when the boundaries of the judicial district were adjusted to the new municipal boundaries.

The last expansion of the Alsfeld judicial district so far took place when the Lauterbach district court was converted into a branch of the AG Alsfeld on January 1, 2005 and the communities previously served from there were added to the Alsfeld district court district (see: table overview). This branch was closed on January 1, 2012.
