The district court of Homberg an der Ohm was a court that existed from 1879 to 1968 and was based in Homberg (Ohm) .

history

founding

On October 1, 1879, the district court of Homberg an der Ohm was founded. The occasion was the Courts Constitution Act of 1877, which standardized the court system in the German Empire and has now also been implemented in the Grand Duchy of Hesse . Functionally, it replaced the Homberg an der Ohm regional court, which was dissolved at the same time . The new district court was assigned to the district of the also newly established district court of Giessen .

Further development

With effect from January 1, 1882, the places Rüddingshausen and Weitershain , which had previously belonged to the Grünberg District Court, were assigned to the Homberg District Court. Weitershain went back to the district of the Grünberg court on July 1, 1886

On October 1, 1938, Rüddingshausen also fell back to the district court district of Grünberg.

On June 15, 1943, the Homberg District Court at Ohm became a branch of the Alsfeld District Court , an austerity measure due to the war . This was reversed on June 1, 1948.

The End

On July 1, 1968, the district court Homberg an der Ohm was dissolved, the judicial district was divided between the district courts Alsfeld and Kirchhain (see: overview).
