Town hall Homberg (Ohm)
The town hall in Homberg , a town in the Vogelsberg district in Hesse , was built in 1539. The half-timbered house on the market square is a protected architectural monument . Until 1892 the town hall was also the seat of the regional and district court .
description
The two-storey half-timbered building on a massive ground floor has a three-storey roof structure . Since the building was built on a slope, part of the ground floor is below level. A six-sided roof turret sits on the gable roof with a small hip . Three of the four eight-sided corner turrets were reconstructed during the extensive restoration between 1965 and 1968. The unadorned half-timbered construction consists of so-called Alsfeld struts that are crossed with headbands .
