On November 1, 1907, the places Hartmannshain and Herchenhain , which had previously belonged to the local court of Schotten, were assigned to the district of the local court of Ortenberg. In contrast, Ranstadt had to be handed over to the district court district of Nidda on July 1, 1912.

With effect from November 1, 1949, the communities Hartmannshain , Herchenhain and Volkartshain were separated and assigned to the district of the Herbstein branch district court .

On July 1, 1957, the Altenstadt District Court became a branch of the Ortenberg District Court, thereby expanding its district to include the communities of Altenstadt , Glauberg, Hainchen, Heegheim , Höchst an der Nidder , Langen-Bergheim , Lindheim, Nieder-Mockstadt , Oberau , Rodenbach , Rommelhausen , Staden and Stammheim .

On April 1, 1964, however, exactly these communities were spun off again, Staden and Stammheim went to the Friedberg District Court , Nieder-Mockstadt to the Nidda District Court and the other communities now formed the district of the Altenstadt branch of the Büdingen District Court .
