Stammheim is a district of Florstadt in the Hessian Wetteraukreis .

Geographical location

Stammheim is located in the Wetterau ( natural subunit Heldenbergener Wetterau ). State road 3188 runs through the village . The Europastraße 41 leads east past the place.

history

Castle in Stammheim

A barrow testifies to the early settlement . The Limes was built in the 1st century , to which a small fort in the Stammheim district (see small fort Stammheim ) belongs. Stammheim was first mentioned in writing in 1244. In the southern area of the village there is the Stammheim Castle , which probably goes back to an older moated castle. It received its current form in 1587.

Since September 11, 1819, the village has belonged to the Grand Duchy of Hesse and its successor states.

On August 1, 1972 Stammheim was in the course of administrative reform in Hesse powerful state law in the community Florstadt incorporated .
