Thomas McKissick Jones

Thomas McKissick Jones (born December 16, 1816 in Person County , North Carolina , † March 13, 1892 in Pulaski , Giles County , Tennessee ) was an American politician from the 19th century . He was also a member of the Freemasons and the Knights Templar .

Jones has represented his state in the House of Representatives and the Senate of Tennessee in his political career . He was also active after the Secession of Tennessee from 1861 to 1862 in the Provisional Confederate Congress . After the war he represented his state at the constitutional convention in 1870. He then served as a judge in Tennessee from 1872 to 1873.

Jones died in Pulaski and was then buried there in Maplewood Cemetery .

Thomas, son of Wilson Jones and Rebecca (McKissack) Jones, had another brother named Calvin (* 1810).
