Nieder-Mockstadt is a district of Florstadt in the Hessian Wetteraukreis .

Geographical location

Through the village leading national highway 275 and State Road 3190. West of the town runs the European route E41 .

history

On March 20, 930, the place is first mentioned in a document as inferiore Muggunstat / Muggistat . A parish was established in the 12th century. This later became a collegiate foundation. Lay priests were trained here. The Mockenstadt Abbey was moved to Frankfurt am Main in the 16th century . In 1706 the place became the official seat. It was administered by a bailiff who appointed a mayor in each of the villages of the department . The Mockenstadt office existed until 1822.

In 1971 a church was built. On August 1, 1972, Nieder-Mockstadt was incorporated into the municipality of Florstadt by means of state law as part of the regional reform in Hesse .
