Ernst Friedrich Johann Dronke

Ernst Friedrich Johann Dronke (born June 28, 1797 in Falkenberg , † December 10, 1849 in Fulda ) was a German educator .

Life

Ernst Friedrich Johann Dronke studied philology and history at the Silesian Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Breslau , then at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Berlin . He then taught at the royal high school in Koblenz . In the fall of 1841 he gave up this position and became headmaster of the grammar school in Fulda , where he died on December 10, 1849 at the age of 52.

His numerous students praised him for his efficiency, also for his scientific seriousness and for his impartiality. He wrote some school works, but also published other works, making a name for himself. He also worked with Jacob Grimm on the second volume of the Weisthümer .

One of his sons was the writer and journalist Ernst Dronke .
