Šarūnas Adomavicius (* 9. November 1951 in Vilnius ) is Lithuanian former politician and diplomat , jurist , jurist , criminologist , 2009 to 2010 Deputy Foreign Minister of Lithuania .

education

After graduating from high school in Vilnius, Šarūnas Adomavičius studied law at the Faculty of Law at Vilnius University from 1969 to 1974 . On November 27, 1986 , he received his doctorate from the Academy of the Ministry of Interior of the Soviet Union on the subject of the criminological classification of crimes and their use in prophylactic activities of the institutions of the Ministry of the Interior (Kriminologinė nusikaltimų klasifikacija ir jos panaudojimas vidaus reikalų organų profilaktinėje veikloje )

He has published over 20 scientific articles, gave lectures, readings and seminars in Tübingen , Bern , Boston and Courmayeur . In January 2002 he worked as a UN crime prevention expert in Vancouver . His research areas include criminology , international law, and constitutional law .

Lawyer and diplomat

Šarūnas Adomavičius worked as an administrative lawyer from 1972 to 1990 . From 1990 to 1992 he was legal assistant to the chairman of the Lithuanian Supreme Council - Restituting Seimas and participated in the drafting of the Lithuanian constitution and other legal acts. From 1997 to 1999 he was legal advisor to the chairman of the Seimas.

Šarūnas Adomavičius was Deputy Director of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1992 to 1993, Consul General in Warsaw from 1993 to 1997, Ambassador in Vienna from 1999 to 2003 and State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2003 to 2005. From 2005 to 2009 he was Lithuanian Ambassador to Italy , 2006 he was also accredited in San Marino , Malta and Switzerland , and since 2007 with the Representation of the Republic of Lithuania at the FAO in Rome. On January 15, 2009, Adomavičius was appointed to the post of Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Lithuania by the then Foreign Minister Vygaudas Ušackas . He was Vice Minister until August 2010 . He has been the ambassador to Poland since 2014 .
