On October 1, 1879, the Grünberg District Court replaced the Grünberg Regional Court as the court of first instance. The occasion was the Courts Constitution Act , with which the court constitution was uniformly organized across the Reich . The district court of Grünberg was assigned to the district of the also newly established district court of Gießen .

Further development

With effect from January 1, 1882, Rüddingshausen and Weitershain were assigned to the district court of Homberg an der Ohm and Ermenrod to the district court of Alsfeld . Weitershain came back to the district of the Grünberg court on July 1, 1886.

Likewise, with effect from July 1, 1912 , Allertshausen, which was assigned to the district court of Gießen in 1879 , was moved to the Grünberg court district, which had already belonged to the district of the district court of Grünberg.

On October 1, 1938, the municipality of Rüddingshausen , which belonged to the district court Homberg an der Ohm , and which before 1879 also belonged to the district of the district court Grünberg, came to the district of the district court Grünberg.

The End

On July 1, 1968, the state of Hesse dissolved the Grünberg district court. The communities of Atzenhain, Flensungen, Groß-Eichen, Ilsdorf, Lehnheim, Merlau, Nieder-Ohmen, Ober-Ohmen, Ruppertenrod and Wettsaasen went to the district court of Alsfeld , the remaining communities of the Sprengel to the district court of Gießen.
