Renzendorf is a district and the seat of the municipal administration of the Schwalmtal municipality in the Vogelsbergkreis in central Hesse .

history

Renzendorf has been closely connected to the neighboring town of Brauerschwend for centuries through the shared use of church and school .

The statistical-topographical-historical description of the Grand Duchy of Hesse reports on Renzendorf in 1830:

"Renzendorf (L. Bez. Alsfeld) evangel. Branch village; is located on the Schwalm, 1 1 / 4 hrs from Alsfeld, has 17 houses and 112 residents who are evangelisch 1 except Catholic, such as 2 grinding mills. There are 6 farmers, 6 farmers and artisans and 2 day laborers among the inhabitants. "

At the beginning of the 18th century the place was assigned to the court of Schwarz (today part of Grebenau ).

Territorial reform

In the course of the regional reform in Hesse , Renzendorf has formed the municipality of Schwalmtal since December 31, 1971, together with eight other previously independent localities .

Territorial history and administration

The following list gives an overview of the territories in which Renzendorf was located and the administrative units to which it was subordinate:

Courts since 1803

In the Landgraviate of Hesse-Darmstadt , the judicial system was reorganized in an executive order of December 9, 1803. The “Hofgericht Gießen” was set up as a court of second instance for the province of Upper Hesse . The jurisdiction of the first instance was carried out by the offices or the landlords and thus the Alsfeld office was responsible for Renzendorf. The court court was the second instance court for normal civil disputes, and the first instance for civil family law cases and criminal cases. The superior court of appeal in Darmstadt was superordinate .

With the establishment of the Grand Duchy of Hesse in 1806, this function was retained, while the tasks of the first instance were transferred to the newly created regional courts in 1821 as part of the separation of jurisdiction and administration. "Alsfeld Regional Court" was therefore the name of the court of first instance in Alsfeld from 1821 to 1879, today's district court, which was responsible for Renzendorf.

On the occasion of the introduction of the Courts Constitution Act with effect from October 1, 1879, as a result of which the previous grand-ducal Hessian regional courts were replaced by local courts in the same place, while the newly created regional courts now functioned as higher courts, the name was changed to the Alsfeld district court and the district was assigned to the district of the regional court Pouring . In the Federal Republic of Germany, the superordinate instances are the Regional Court of Giessen, the Higher Regional Court of Frankfurt am Main and the Federal Court of Justice as the last instance.

traffic

The district had a stopping point at kilometer 66.9 of the Vogelsbergbahn . Renzendorf received the breakpoint after the neighboring town of Brauerschwend refused to make land available for a train station when construction of the railway line began in 1870 .

The Renzendorf stop was closed together with the Wallenrod station as part of the new timetable concept for the Vogelsbergbahn for the 2011/2012 timetable change on December 10, 2011. While Wallenrod still serves as a depot , the Renzendorfer halt was completely shut down. However, still today (2014) the station sign and the former platform remind of the former stop.
