The Alsfeld administrative district was an administrative district in the Grand Duchy of Hesse between 1848 and 1852 .

history

After the March Revolution , the remaining civil privileges were abolished and a territorial reform was carried out. The three provinces, the districts and the districts that still existed in the “sovereign countries” were dissolved and government districts were established instead.

The Alsfeld administrative district was one of the five new administrative districts in the former province of Upper Hesse . It consisted of a total of 138 communities and was formed from the previous district of Alsfeld , the district of Lauterbach and the places of the former Felda court (Groß- and Klein-Felda, Helpershain, Kestrich, Köddingen, Meiches, Stumpertenrod, Windhausen).

The noble privileges of the Riedesel family in the baronial Riedesel district of Lauterbach were revoked.

After the victory of the reaction , the Alsfeld administrative region was dissolved again in 1852 and the Alsfeld district re-established. However, he retained the rights of the court lords and landlords that had fallen into the hands of the state in the course of the revolution.
