Darmstadt administrative district (Starkenburg)
As a result of the March Revolution 1848-1852, the Darmstadt administrative district was briefly an administrative unit in the Grand Duchy of Hesse . The seat was Darmstadt .
history
As a result of the March Revolution in 1848 , the provinces, the counties and the districts of the Grand Duchy that remained in the “sovereign lands” were abolished and replaced by government districts that were larger in area. The Darmstadt administrative district emerged from the Darmstadt district , the Großgerau district and parts of the Offenbach district .
As a product of the March Revolution, this territorial reform was reversed after the victory of the restorative forces in the reaction era in 1852, when the districts of Darmstadt, Großgerau and Offenbach were restored from the area of the administrative district of Darmstadt.
