Events

The Royal Athletic Park is a multi-purpose stadium with lighting in Victoria , British Columbia , Canada .

It is primarily used for baseball , soccer , softball, and Canadian football , but is often used as a venue for special events.

The stadium is currently home to the professional baseball club Victoria Seals , the Golden Baseball League .

history

The stadium was already in use in the early 20th century, after a major fire in 1967 it was renovated and reopened that same year. The normal capacity of the stadium is 4,247 seats, but depending on the event it can be expanded to 9,247 seats and - as in the case of the Junior World Cup - up to 11,500 seats.

Royal Athletic Park is home to the Victoria Rebels, a Canadian football team, and Victoria United, a city football club. It used to be the home stadium of the Victoria Capitals minor league team and several other clubs.

During the Junior Soccer World Cup in Canada in 2007 , it was one of the six stadiums. The games of group F (except for the game Scotland - Costa Rica) and the round of 16 between Japan and the Czech Republic were played here.
