Justus Otto

Justus Otto (born April 13, 1802 in Elpenrod ; † July 24, 1877 in Hitzkirchen ) was a Hessian pastor, politician and member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Justus Otto was the son of the forester Johann Philipp Otto and his wife Anna Gertraud , née Deibel. Otto, who was of Protestant faith, married Susanne, born Berk, on November 4, 1827 in Alsfeld.

Otto became rector and second pastor in Biedenkopf in 1852 . From 1833 to 1836 he worked as the second pastor in Nidda and from 1836 to 1844 as pastor in Wohnbach . From 1844 to 1849 he was pastor in Bechtheim and from 1849 to 1855 in Fränkisch-Crumbach . From 1855 to 1864 he was the first pastor and dean in Alsfeld . From 1864 to 1872 he was pastor in Neunkirchen iO before he retired.

From 1859 to 1862 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency of Oberhessen 5 / Homberg .
