Peter Becker (politician, 1804)

Johann Peter Becker (born June 3, 1804 in Nieder-Ohmen ; † February 26, 1884 in Gießen ) was a German politician and former member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Peter Becker was the son of the alderman Johann Becker and his wife Anna Barbara nee König. In his first marriage, Peter Becker married Elise, née Pfersdorf (1804–1839), on June 8, 1829. After her death, he married Christiane Louise Auguste nee Wüst on October 28, 1839. Professionally, Peter Becker worked as a typist before he became a district holder in Ortenberg in 1829 (from 1861 in Gießen II). In 1867 he became Rendant and in 1878 he retired.

In the 9th and 10th electoral terms (1841–1841) Peter Becker was a member of the second chamber of the state estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse. In the estates he represented the constituency of Upper Hesse 13 / Gedern-Ortenberg .
