August Hirsch (politician)

Friedrich August Hirsch (born February 4, 1798 in Büdingen , † March 24, 1838 in Darmstadt ) was a Hessian civil servant and politician and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Life

August Hirsch was the son of the building manager and court gardener Johann Peter Hirsch and his wife Katharina Henriette, née Koch. Hirsch, who was a Protestant, married Anne Marie (Nanette) born Hoffmann (1798–1874) on September 6, 1823 in Oppenheim.

Hirsch studied mathematics at the University of Gießen from 1816 and later became head of the cadastral survey of the province of Rheinhessen. In 1822 he was tax commissioner in Darmstadt, in 1830 assessor at the upper finance chamber with voice and conductor of the cadastral authority. In 1831 he became a substitute for the cadastral verifier and in 1832 he was appointed chief finance officer.

From 1834 to 1836 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency of Oberhessen13 / Gedern-Ortenberg . In the estates he took conservative positions.
