Theodor Gilmer

Theodor Konrad Gilmer (born June 2, 1779 in Schaafheim ; † November 30, 1854 in Darmstadt ) was a Hessian secret finance councilor and politician and a former member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

family

Theodor Gilmer was the son of the chief forester Johann Jacob Gilmer (1748–1797) and his wife Marie Jacobea nee Makehauer (1754–1825). Theodor Gilmer, who was of Protestant denomination, married on June 18, 1802 in Gießen Caroline born Sue's widowed Koch (1770-1831). The son Carl Jakob Ludwig Gilmer (born June 4, 1804 in Darmstadt; † January 9, 1880 in Gießen) was district judge in Butzbach and chief magistrate in Friedberg .

education and profession

Theodor Gilmer studied law at the University of Giessen from 1798 and became government advocate and procurator in Darmstadt in 1803. In 1816 he became court chamber councilor there, in 1821 chief finance councilor at the upper finance chamber and in 1847 secret chief finance councilor. In 1853 he was retired.

politics

In the 1st and 2nd electoral periods (1820-1824) he was a member of the second chamber of the state estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse. In the state estates he represented the constituency of Oberhessen 2 / Gladenbach .
