Etymology and history
The Kraftsruhe was named after Friedrich Kraft (1807–1874), President of the Grand Ducal Court .
From 1870, Friedrich Kraft had the Steinberg planted with trees and bushes. From the rest of strength one had a wonderful view of the Rhine plain .
Around 1890 the construction of a lookout tower was planned, but this was never realized.
In 1893 a wooden pavilion was built. The pavilion no longer exists today.
Others
After Friedrich Kraft's death, his colleagues had an inscription placed on the largest of the boulders lying there: “Kraft's rest. In memory of the Court President Dr. Friedrich Kraft. Dedicated in 1874 "
