Benjamin Davies (born January 18, 1991 in Cardiff , Wales ) is a British ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Guildford Flames in the Elite Ice Hockey League since 2017 and since 2018 in the summer half-year for the Mustangs IHC from Melbourne in the Australian Ice Hockey League is playing.
Career
Benjamin Davies began his career as a hockey player with the Cardiff Devils in his hometown, for which he initially played in junior teams. At the age of 16, he made his debut in the professional team in the Elite Ice Hockey League , but was initially also used in junior teams. In early 2011, he moved to Basingstoke Bison in the second-rate English Premier Ice Hockey League on loan for six months . After returning to Cardiff, he moved to the Braehead Clan in Scotland in 2014 , which, like his home club, plays in the Elite Ice Hockey League. After two years in Scotland, he started the 2016/17 season with the Swindon Wildcats in the English Premier Ice Hockey League, moved briefly to the United States, where he played five games for the Norfolk Admirals in the ECHL and returned to the in November 2016 British Isles, where he finished the season at Coventry Blaze from the Elite Ice Hockey League. He has been playing for league competitor Guildford Flames since 2017 and, since 2018, in the summer half-year for Mustangs IHC from Melbourne in the Australian Ice Hockey League .
International
For Great Britain , Davies took part in the junior division of the U18 World Championships in Division II in 2008 and 2009 , when he was named the best striker of the tournament, as well as in the U20 title fights in Division II in 2009 and 2010 and Division I in 2011 . In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in Division I in 2013 , 2014 and 2018 , when the British managed to return to the top level of the World Championships for the first time after relegation in 1994.
