Gustav Dittmar

Gustav Georg August Dittmar (born March 8, 1836 in Lampertheim , † August 5, 1919 in Darmstadt ) was a German forester and politician .

Life

Dittmar was the son of the parish vicar Carl Friedrich Dittmar and his wife Katharina Louise nee Braumann. He studied forest science in Giessen . During his studies in 1854 he became a member of the Germania Gießen fraternity . After completing his studies, he became chief forester in Livonia , Karkus Castle . In 1866 he married Emilie, born Schiele, in Frankfurt am Main . In 1866 he became forestry accessist in Lampertheim, in 1869 head forester in Butzbach and in 1884 forester in Romrod . In 1897 he became chief forestry officer in the Darmstadt Ministry of Finance , forest and camera administration department. In 1898 he was promoted to the Secret Forestry Council and was then lecturer in the Ministry of Finance until 1903 .

From 1876 to 1884 he was a member of the second chamber of the state estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse , Butzbach constituency, for the Hessian Progressive Party .

He was the older brother of Emil Dittmar .
