Lara Prašnikar (born August 8, 1998 in Celje ) is a Slovenian soccer player .

Life

Prašnikar was born in 1998 as the daughter of the former Yugoslav national player and Slovenian national coach Bojan Prašnikar and the businesswoman Bernarda. Lara grew up in Šmartno ob Paki with her brother Luka, who is 12 years her senior .

Career

Prašnikar started her career as a youth player at NK Šmartno . In 2010 she left Šmartno and went to ŠD Škale, where she was promoted to the senior team in 2013. On August 25, 2013, she made her senior debut for ŽNK Rudar Škale, where she was able to score two goals in a 5-0 win over NK Velesovo . In her debut season, she scored 23 goals in just 19 games. In the following seasons, she was able to score 23 goals in just 16 games in 2014/15 and 31 goals in 2015/16. Turbine Potsdam became aware of the striker through her 77 goals in 3 seasons and invited her to a trial training session in June 2016. Prašnikar was able to recommend himself there and signed a 2-year contract in Potsdam on August 10, 2016 .

In 2018/19 she became a regular player and scored 10 goals. In the following season, she scored 15 goals in 16 games until the break due to the corona epidemic. For the 2020/21 season, she switched to Eintracht Frankfurt and signed a contract until 2023.

International

Prašnikar made her debut for the Slovenian national team in the European Championship qualifier on September 22, 2015 against Scotland (0: 3) . She scored her first goal for this on April 12, 2016 in the same tournament against Macedonia's selection (final score 8: 1).
