Karoline Smidt Nielsen (born May 12, 1994 in Odense ) is a Danish soccer player .

Career

society

Smidt Nielsen began her career in her hometown of Odense in Odense HPTI. This was followed by positions at B1913 Odense and Odense BK , from where she moved to Fortuna Hjørring in the summer of 2012 . After 6 years at Hjørring, she moved to Germany in the summer of 2018 , where she signed a two-year contract with 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam on June 15, 2018 . Shortly after moving to Potsdam, Smidt Nielsen suffered cartilage damage in his left knee and did not play a single role for Potsdam in the 2018/2019 season.

International

In December 2012, Smidt Nielsen made her international debut when she came on as a substitute at halftime for Pernille Harder in a 5-0 win over the Mexican women's national soccer team in São Paulo , Brazil .

In the summer of 2013, national coach Kenneth Heiner-Møller nominated her for the Danish women's national soccer team for the 2013 European women's soccer championship .

trainer

In spring 2016 she took over the post of head coach of the U-13s from Fortuna Hjørring and coached the team until she moved to Germany in 2018.

Personal

Her parents also played soccer. Mother Lone Smidt Nielsen is 57 times national player for Denmark and is in the Hall of Fame of the DBU . Her father is the former soccer player and coach Niels Nielsen, who u. a. Fjordager IF trained.
