The canton of Bazas was a canton in the Arrondissement Langon in the Gironde department in the Aquitaine region in France until 2015 .

history

The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the départements as part of what was then the Bazas district .

With the founding of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the Bazas arrondissement.

Since September 10, 1926, the canton has been part of the Langon arrondissement.

geography

The canton bordered the cantons of Langon and Auros to the north, the canton of Grignols to the east, the canton of Captieux to the south and the canton of Villandraut to the west .
