The canton Branne was until 2015, Canton in the Arrondissement Libourne in the Gironde department in the region of Aquitaine in France .
history
The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 in the course of the establishment of the départements as part of what was then the "Libourne District".
With the founding of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the Libourne arrondissement.
The cantons were reorganized in March 2015. With this reorganization, the canton of Branne was dissolved.

geography
The canton bordered the canton of Libourne to the north and northeast , the cantons of Castillon-la-Bataille and Pujols to the east, the canton of Targon in the Langon arrondissement to the south and the cantons of Créon and Lormont in the Bordeaux arrondissement to the west .
