Espiet is a French village with 776 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Gironde in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine ; it belongs to the Arrondissement Libourne and the canton Les Coteaux de Dordogne (until 2015: Canton Branne ). The inhabitants are called Espiétais .

geography

Espiet is about 27 kilometers east of Bordeaux and about twelve kilometers south of Libourne . Espiet is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Quentin-de-Baron in the north and north-west, Tizac-de-Curton in the north-east, Daignac in the east, Blésignac in the south and south-east, Saint-Léon in the south, La Sauve in the south-west and Camiac-et -Saint-Denis to the west.

The former route nationale 136 (today's D936) runs through the municipality .
