Bayas is a southwestern French community with 456 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Gironde in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Libourne and the canton of Le Nord-Libournais (until 2015: canton of Guîtres ). The inhabitants are called Bayardois .

location

Bayas is located about 38 kilometers northeast of Bordeaux in the Saintonge landscape . Bayas is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Cercoux in the north, Lagorce in the east, Guîtres in the south and south-east, Saint-Martin-de-Laye in the south-west and Maransin in the west.
