Fronsac is a French commune in the Gironde department in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . Fronsac has 1153 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017); this is a number that has been stable for over 40 years. The municipality belongs to the canton of Le Libournais-Fronsadais in the Arrondissement of Libourne .

geography

The municipality is located in the narrower catchment area of ​​the city of Libourne , the center of which is about four kilometers to the east. In the south the Dordogne is the municipal boundary, in the east the Isle , which separates the place from Libourne. Bordeaux is about 35 km southwest.
