Porchères is a French municipality with 881 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Gironde in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Libourne and the canton of Le Nord-Libournais (until 2015: canton of Coutras ).
geography
Porchères is located about 51 kilometers east-northeast of Bordeaux and about 24 kilometers northeast of Libourne on the river Isle , which forms the southern municipal boundary. Porchères is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Christophe-de-Double in the north, Saint-Antoine-sur-l'Isle in the east, Saint-Seurin-sur-l'Isle in the south, Camps-sur-l'Isle in the southwest, Coutras in the west and Le Fieu in the west and northwest.
