Lugon-et-l'Ile-du-Carnay ( Occitan Lugon e l'Isla Dou Carnèir ) is a southwestern French municipality with 1281 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Gironde in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Libourne and the canton Le Libournais-Fronsadais (until 2015: Canton Fronsac ).

Lugon-et-l'Île-du-Carnay is located about 23 kilometers northeast of Bordeaux and about nine kilometers west-northwest of Libourne on the Dordogne , which borders the municipality in the south. Lugon-et-l'Île-du-Carnay is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Tarnès in the north, Villegouge in the east and northeast, Saint-Germain-de-la-Rivière in the east, Izon in the south, Saint-Loubès in the southwest and Saint- Romain-la-Virvée and Cadillac-en-Fronsadais to the west.
