Bonzac is a southwestern French community with 747 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Gironde in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Libourne and the canton of Le Nord-Libournais (until 2015: canton of Guîtres ). The inhabitants are called Bonzacais .

location

Bonzac is located about 34 kilometers northeast of Bordeaux . The river Isle forms the eastern and southern municipal boundaries. Bonzac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Martin-de-Laye in the north, Sablons in the east and north-east, Saint-Denis-de-Pile in the south and east, Savignac-de-l'Isle in the south-west and Saint-Martin-du- Bois to the west and northwest.
