Baron is a French village with 1,153 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Gironde department in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine ; it belongs to the Arrondissement Libourne and the canton Les Coteaux de Dordogne (until 2015: Canton Branne ). The inhabitants are called baronnais .
geography
Baron is located about 21 kilometers east-southeast of Bordeaux and about eleven kilometers south-southwest of Libourne on the Dordogne . Baron is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Germain-du-Puch in the north, Nérigean in the northeast, Saint-Quentin-de-Baron in the east, Camiac-et-Saint-Denis in the southeast, Cursan in the south and southwest and Croignon in the west.
